Just tried a aftermarket battery charger from eb@y and it decided to self terminate itself...

So now back to charging through the gopro, I have 1600mAh non OEM batteries and I use a apple charger the one that says '5W' on the underside. Charges batteries steady and no problems at all - lots of people using apple chargers without any harm.

I do charge the batteries with the gopro out of the housing and without the battery door - to let it breath and cool while charging.

I bought this over the weekend - a 'lot' smaller than the iPod wall charger and a "LOT" less protruding than the iPod charger. Still rated at 1amp and its perfect for GoPro charging. I like it over the iPod charger as the cable points downward also, saves getting nailed on it as someone walks past or hit accidently.

Also warranted for life, has a inbuilt surge protector and other nice touches for $18.
