I was trying to stick some pool foam to a chupa chup stick the other day.

Super glue didnt work - silicone was marginally better - but it was hot glue, that saved the day

(I did rough up the sticks with sand paper, after failing with super glue and silicone though)

I've been toying around the idea of popping live and dead baits up off the bottom to make them more visible to passing fish.

They also can be used as standard sliding surface floats

So there is something out there that silicone won't stick to.
Throughout my building career it was always the "go to" when other products failed.

Yeah dont take my word for it - It just didnt work when I applied it

Some pieces stuck better than others but maybe I just didnt get enough silicone down the hole in the foam - or the chupa chup stick pushed it all out when I inserted it back down

I think the slickness of the Chupa Chup stick didnt help when I tried super glue and silicone - I roughed it up with coarse sand paper before applying the hot glue.

But the hot glue provided a very solid bond compared to the other 2

I use the scissor handles for hooks.

Those sticks are a thing of Beauty

I have used the scissors (rapala) before but the rings on those were a bit thick for gar hooks. So I had to hang the hooks over the blades and there were some near misses with that method

But the mighty Berkleys have got you covered on little hooks and bigguns

I've also found a nail in the tackle bench to be a handy anchor point - as you can simultaneously apply pressure to the main line and the tag end while tightening.
