Here is a link for the socks http://www.sealskinz.com/UK/socks/ke...ngth-sock.html
Not cheap but if they keep your feet dry and warm they may be worth it. |

I got 2 pairs of sealskinz from ebay UK for $70.
So far, very happy with them. |

I've upgraded from the plastic bags over the feet to these fellas.
Heavier than a pair of runners - lighter than a pair of Hikers - you can spray them with a hose and your socks stay dry. Plus if you have a black texta - you can colour in that grey bit on the sole and make them look sick (North Face also make a Gortex version that are suppossed to be lighter and better - but they also come with the price tag reflecting such improvements) http://www.anacondastores.com/footwe.../BP90048075004 Last edited by yellow door 1; 08-05-2016 at 03:07 AM. |

If you wear them with water proof pants - they'd do the trick

Sealskinz are very good but they do start to let a bit of water through after a lot of use. Had mine for 8 years and the first 3yrs i used them 3 times a week on average and they were sensational. Holding a kayak stable in the water while a client climbs aboard , with ice on the grass from a frost and not getting wet feet is a bonus
But these days if i stand in the water for more than about 10secs a bit of water starts to get through.. |

$20 gumboots from Bunnings with 1 thick pair of woolen socks. You out waterproof pants over the tops. Feet don't get wet and stay comfortable.

Yeah I can see that approach being ideal in certain scenarios

I use Aldi snow boots this time of year. Water proof up to the ankles, super warm and only cost me $20 or so.
Otherwise for launching I bought myself a pair of bogs boots. |
