berkeley dropshot
HI guys,
I've had an old Berkeley dropshot 2-4kg rod for over 5yrs and its a ripper. Its the old blue version before they replaced it with the brown colour one. I heard they dropped in quality a bit since my one. I know they replaced the brown/olive one with a blueish one again. Does anyone know if they are are any good now? I am looking for a nice starter rod for the kids (and as a back up to lend to friends and so on) and saw these on clearance for about $50. Are they any good? |

i have a 2-4kg berkley dropshot gen4 and it fast became one of my favorite rods in the 2-4 range. Good value for money. Soft tip while maintaining heaps of bottom end power. I also like the fugi k guides.

Agreed, excellent Rod for the price, newish ones are Black Gen 4. A new version is coming out this year. Gen 4 has excellent Build, and strong bottom end. Not the best caster of light lures due to being stiff, but great for pulling fish out of structure etc.

I have two gen 4's one 1-3kg and a 6-10 kg. I find them both to be fantastic. for the price I wouldn't be looking at them.. I would be walking out the door with one haha
