Question Uploading Photos...Why Has It Changed?

When I now upload a photo like I've always done in the past...It now only uploads photos as a file instead of the usual picture itself like it used to do?

How do I get rid of this stupid file thing?

Basically, you can't until our service provider gets his act into gear. We know the issue, but they are playing bump. There are other plans afoot so stay tuned.

Alternatively you can host your pictures on a website like photobucket then use the img code to directly put photos on here. Just food for thought

I don't know if this helps but I reduce the file size of my pics to 300kb and 800 pixels on the long edge. They come out fine.
I do mine in photoshop but I've reduced them before in windows paint.

Don't use photo bucket, would much rather upload my resized images straight from my laptop onto here. Saves a lot of stuffing around...I'm not that good with computers.

I'll just wait it out until the forum comes back to normal...Until then you'll just have to wait for my next report.

Hey Bear, if you're upgrading systems have a look at the bigfooty website it's great, you can 'like' posts, you get notifications if someone quotes you or likes a post of yours and also incorporates hash tags. It's a great system that would increase your users interaction.

Sexton I have to open my pictures up in Micro$oft Office Picture Manager and I have to resize them down to Document Small 800 x 600 pixels.

Painful because before the pictures were full size and better quality.

We have just tweaked some server settings and hopefully you should be able to post images as before? Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately not, we thought we had it with the last fix that was applied however now it appears that it was not the issue. Our service provider is not providing any joy either so we are now contemplating changing our hosting to here in Australia. The issue occurred when the site crashed last however the provider is adamant it was not their fault while they did accept that the site crash was...

If you resize images to be no bigger than 800 pixels on any side there should be no issue with putting up pics.

Ian.
