I've seen a few around the structures in my snapper spots, but never caught one. From a distance they look a lot like Jewies, and some are pretty big, but it's not till you get closer that you can see the coloring. I've sight-casted at a few thinking they were Jewies, but they took absolutely no notice of my plastics.

They must be the masters of disguise - I confused a cruising pair for little kingies the other night. (That was manily due to my expectations of how the evening would pan out though)

But I know what you mean re jewies - I've fallen for that too

Yeah I've had a few cracks at them over the years and never had one show any interest in gulps or plastics.


But a couple of guys on facebook are saying they've got them on bass minnows and turtle back worms.

Just saw another fella who gets them on a worm lure - he seems to get a few
