No idea - I was originally planning on saving it for burley but I might just hang onto it for research purposes

I've got some old bait clogging up the freezer. Its from last season and I was going to chuck it out......
But then it dawned on me - I could turn that stuff into burley logs. So a frantic search of youtube for the most tight arsed way to achieve this goal started. Guys reckon paint stirrers are the go - and I got so caught up in finding the right one - I made a snap purchase Last edited by yellow door 1; 30-07-2019 at 03:45 AM. |

Minutes after pressing the "commit to buy" button - I could have kicked myself.
A man who prides himself on innovating, doesnt throw big bucks like that, on a store bought item So I got the grinder out - and got to work Last edited by yellow door 1; 01-08-2019 at 08:12 AM. |

Took some inspiration from a bamix blade and sharpened the leading edges

Then it was off to bunnings for $3 worth of threaded rod nuts and washers.
The final tweak was turning 2 of the blades up when I got access to a vice and a hammer. Its looks like it might spin quick enough to do damage with a a cordless drill.....but with and electric drill - it was scary fast I'm currently waiting for the 2 part epoxy to set before giving it its first taste of flesh - but I'm quietly confident it will do the trick. |

I'm thinking, it is the must have, home made accessory for an applicant in the Darwin Awards

Another tip
- while you're trying to lock the nuts after the glue has dried - a great way to ensure your locking pins are snug - Just snap the drill bit off when trying to reverse out - pour some super glue down the bit and call it done Last edited by yellow door 1; 31-07-2019 at 05:50 AM. |

Just incase that pic isnt clear - I was trying to drill straight through the nuts and rod - then put a metal pin through to lock them

The eagle has landed
This paint stirrer is a beast. The blades of my diy bamix blade were dictated by the width of the steel strip I'd salvaged. But this paint stirrer has spread its wings like a Wedge Tailed Eagle. The revs were scary on my cordless drill - I'll be wrapping a towel around my head before letting it rip with the 240 volt drill |
