I personally would go the new Emeraldas colossal(which i might be soon).
It is certate based like the morethan and also has the same gearing as the hyper certate 2500R and morethan, with same 7kg drag but with more BB's and 20 and 30g lighter. And cheaper than a morethan too.And being a 2508 still holds plenty of line. ah i think ive talked myself into one already

Yeah thought about that one too CHOP... Bloody Daiwa and their nice reels

I am really leaning towards the MORETHAN Branzino 3000 because of its extra size. Plus the looks I admit are a factor also.

Now how to tell the lovely fiancee

True... I will be looking around for the best price available once I have chosen the reel, but discounts can be had on most prices which is why the price has been left out of this somewhat...

Still hoping to get one with a domestic warranty though... It is an awful lot of $$$ to take a risk with

Cheaper here http://www.sportfishingscene.com.au/...branzino-3000/

And maybe rayandannes would have it cheaper again.

Once you own a Branzino you'll never want to use another reel again! Fits 210m of 30lb Branzino SI braid which is the thinnest braid I have found perfectly.

Another thing to take into consideration if you choose to buy overseas and have any sort of problems with it you can always send it to Daiwa Australia and pay a small fee for a service etc at the end of the day the money you save on buying it from overseas will leave you some coin in your pocket for a service later down the track or even a few lures or two.............

Ah yes the classic Daiwa Vs Shimano Battle. I think they'll both evenly as good, just shimano got a better ratio, normally smoother drag and doesn't end up turning into a very low quality blue paintjob, but i dont take sides
