Nah - nothing special - forgot I had them - found them - and pulled them out of retirement

First catch something big that bends your net out of shape

Then although you think you might upgrade your net - you still need it for a before work session - so do a dodgy repair

Then ask for advice on the internet only to find everyone recommends a landing net that costs 120 dollars.

Have a think and then realize how much "sentimental value" your old net has and decide to repair it properly.

Step 1 - heat gun to soften up the silicone you added last time you repaired this net (step 1a - remind yourself never to use silicon while repairing a net again )

Step 2 - amputate the bits that got bent

Step 3 - use brute strength and controlled rage to reshape the net into something resembling its former self

Step 4 -is optional

forget that a heat gun will melt nylon netting very quickly - yank on the effected parts until you cant break them any more - then patch up the stuff up with cable ties

I've no doubt the initial "quick fix" repair, would have made the net last another 20 years - but it didnt fit into the holster I'd just made

YD you should check to see if you can't find a glow in the dark pigment or powder on the bay, mix it with some slower setting glue or silastic and either inject it or fill a hollow part of your plastic. Hell, even just paint it down the sides.

Ahh yeah - you've just reminded me - they already make glow scent

I got too swept up in solving the problem myself I'll have a hunt around

A heated needle might create a hole into which you can insert the glowstick. The plastic should stretch enough to hold it in place and the "pre-made" hole would prevent tearing
