With my next rod I think I will skip the hook keepers. Great idea but not for me. I have them on the left hand side of the rod as I have the reel handle on the right. However I do a lot of back hand cast and most times the line gets caught on the hook keeper. I think personally would prefer to use the stripper guide as a hook keeper. And the hook keeper is the fold away ones. In addition, I forget that the hook is near the cork handles and always end up pricking myself!
