How to fish switchblades

Winter time is great time to do some shopping, I recently brought a few TT switchblades and evergreen littlemax, just wondering if someone can tell me how to fish them correctly, it seems to have more action just doing vertical jigging than cast out.

Fish them like any vibe.

Generally bouncing them across the bottom with get you results. Slow roll trying to hug the bottom. Dror caught some good fish in Albany ripping them across the flats.

If you get some inquires and dont hook up, dead stick the lure. Bream will often pick them up off the bottom.

With any vibe, if you can feel the wiggle it is doing its job.

Side note to MM: Bloody hell your fast on the replies

I brought the switchblades from Complete anglers in Sydney. What is your opinon of replacing the triple hooks with a single? It sink quick and the triple will just catch on everything on the buttom....

Had a few of the doubles hooks break on decent fish, thats why i've stuck to trebles. Havent tried singles yet though.

I fish them Cast > Wait > Big Lift > Wait > Big Lift > Wait. Also found a stiffer rod gives them alot better action.

I've just replaced the trebles on mine with Gamakatsu Singles, yet to give it a try, but I'll let you know how it works for me.

I think because of the wider gape of the singles the hookups might be more solid (similar to using a jg head) which shouls help reduce the number of hooks pulled. Just wait and see about the hookup rate though

I also prefer a stiffer rod, more direct to the lure, lifts aren't asborbes by the rod bending. But softer is always better for landing fish.
