I wouldnt buy another blue luvias. I have two and they are not that good, they both make crappy noises that I havent heard form a Daiwa reel before, guy at the shop said they would be fine after some use, That was bull!. The Ballistic is just as good but heavier and I got it for almost half the price! I dont know how it will hold up though
Wow, I have a blue luvi and it is the smoothest reel I have (and not the most expensive either). I do make sure I pull it down for a service whenever there is a wet day and I cant fish, and I know this helps. It makes my other reels feel like garbage.

Hmm.. Where from? I didn't see any on ebay for that sort of price.

I got my 2004 caldia last week, it looks really nice, but to be honest doesn't feel as nice as I expected. It isn't sloppy or anything, it's just not that smooth. Nice and light though, perfect size for my samurai reaction 201.

Havent caught a whole lot on it, apart from a few small bream and a couple of nice flatties which took a bit of line. the drag and everything seems fine, as does the line lay. running 0.5 pe 6lb unitika Auroa and haven't had any issues with wind knots or anything yet.

my only negative is as I mentioned, not as smooth as I would like. maybe i'm just being fussy because i'm comaparing it to the only other daiwas I own which are certates.

Likewise, I'm also waiting for the price to drop a little before I buy. I had a wind of one at the local tackle store, it's smooth, but not as smooth as a 2010 certate but I suppose that's comparing apples to oranges.

I think the display model had some handle slop in it, either that or the handle wasn't tightened properly.

I got mine at a good price..... Mine is very similar to the 2010 Certate and better than some I have felt. I'm picky I have 2 Certates and Steez reels and it isn't far behind a Certate. Yet to use it properly though. I will be putting some Toray Radius on which should look awesome!

Looks sweet!! With the Radius, wind it on one reel, then wind onto Caldia, you will get the white on top and would go sick with the reel!! Just remember to run the line through a rag, as the colour(red in particular) will splash on your pretty reel

So does the Radius have each colour for 25m? I thought it was white then had a colour mark every 25m .

I'm gonna put half on my 2004 Certate, they hold 100m of 0.6 PE so the 200m spool will do me 2 reels. I've got the spare spool so it will be spooled on that first then swapped over.
