Hello all! My first post in this nice forum
Is there any specific information about the "hardware" already? 8 bearings should indicate that there is an extra bearing on line roller. Possibly Magsealed line roller solution similar to Certate/Exist. But my main interest is about the bearings on main drive gear. Are they also Magsealed similar to Morethan/Exist? Biggest cosmetical change seems to be only the spool with ATD knob, but reel body is guite the same... I'm a lucky owner of 2012 Luvias 2004. It has had 700+ extensive fishing-hours and is still with smooth drive. Last week I switched my Luvias with a new Stella C2000S and I have to say my Luvias feels better in hand. Also the owner of that Stella, who was fishing with my Luvias, agreed that Luvias was much smoother. Can't wait the new Luvias Last edited by Ceemic; 04-08-2015 at 06:50 AM. |

According to four very poorly translated japanese tackle blogs the luvias will feature these improvements
ATD - ( means very little performance increase of 1-3% ) New spool - ( weight reduction ) 1 extra BB - ( hopefully on the spool ) Effectively this means 5gm less because of a change in the spool material. The other two i dont see really meaning alot. All the rakuten pre-orders list no mag sealed line roller and no mag seal BB. Pre-orders are starting at around 28k yen so 300 or there abouts. This pricing and predicted components make sense if you compare this to the 15 emeraldas which has been confirmed to be built off the 2015 luvias. The emeraldas is 150 more and features mag seal BB and a eva knob which you could assume is the reason for 150 dollar price difference. The extra bearing in the emererldas would be just another one on the knob im thinking so really just a stat padding feature. I must stress all just theory at this point until Daiwa Japan confirms specs. Also interesting to see if Daiwa use the 15 Luvias as a platform for lots of offshot models, like they did with the 14 Caldia. Looks like a Certate/emeraldas offshoot like yester-years model wont happen with the emma air and emma mx in the market both less then 12 months old. Anyone ever figure out what the 14 gekka is built off yet ? If anything this new luvias without any additional price inflating mag seal additions makes the 14 gekka seem VERY good value. Is the Gekka just priced more aggressively due to its made in china versus made in japan nonsense ? Last edited by laddercat; 10-08-2015 at 12:12 PM. |

If they wanted to put bearings to handle knob, it should add 2 bearings, not 1.
Same goes to spool bearings. Why change only 1, when you need actually 2. So i still think it is on line roller. Or they did put 2 bearings to knob and then removed one from pinion Lets hope not... Mentioning '14 Gekkabijin. I just recently used 2004 size on a long brown trout fishing day and I have to say, it's not as good as '12 Luvias. Yes, it felt a little bit more robust and "solid", but not nearly as smooth as Luvias. But then again, I can't make examples and comparison with only one particular reel. |

Looks like the no frills option of the new range.
Maybe the only subtle style/design left. |

If they ruin the certates I'll burn Daiwa hq to the ground.

official release. From what i can understand No new mag seal line roller New spool and mostly useless ATD, although it is an improvement. Id say go grab the 12 luvias for discounted prices if you can this new model dosent appear to be better much at all . Once again im left wondering is the 14 gekka just cheaper because of its country of manufacture ? i think im gonna buy a used gekka instead of a 15 luvias. I'm with you laddercat, 2014 2004 gekka will likely be my next bream reel, so aesthetically pleasing and feel pretty awesome in hand!

The gekka isn't anywhere near as smooth as a luvias I was interested as well until I had a play with one at the shop. Why did you expect a magseal line roller on a luvias? Just saying if they did that there'd be no reason to buy the gekka, presso, Emma air or ignis if they did that! The luvias would end up almost the best spec reel minus a few bearings Last edited by matt jorg; 20-08-2015 at 11:20 PM. |

English version - http://daiwa-fishingshow.globeride.j...luvias/en.html
It sounds to me like Daiwa added a bearing to support the spool or it could be in the spool itself. |

Sad to hear, that no Magsealed lineroller
But still, where is that extra bearing? Reels, that have bearing inside spool, have usually bearing also in spool support and vice versa. That should add 2 bearings. I hope they didn't take one bearing off from somewhere else... |

The Emma air has mag seal in three places The presso and ignis are built off different platforms.this update seems alot like a iPhone 6s rather then a real refresh is all. Not a great incentive to upgrade my current 12 luvias. |
