I've seen one in the flesh fishing with a mate they look quite nice the yellow has a pearl finish to it which really looks great when the sun hits it something you don't see in the pictures of them. They feel great too. Still I wouldn't buy one for retail, but if I had the chance to get one closer to the $500 range then I'd definitely consider one.

Thought they would have looked better in person. Don't really like them nor hate them, aesthetically speaking.

Yep now I've played with one I must admit I want one!
But as usual don't need one

its ugliness will cause debate for years

Was thinking the same, but trust me they'll never retail that low

Refined, it was very very smooth for some reason better than the 2 I own that are only 6 months old anyway .
I doubt they are different though which you're alluding to.

A Certate with a severe case of jaundice.
What was the marketing department thinking?

Had a chance to look at one in the flesh today. It's still sitting on the shelf.

What about the price of them boys? Too rich for me, do most feel the same? Would you pay that retail if the reel was more attractive but still with the same specs?
Its not that long ago that the Tate was a $600 odd reel anyway.

It seemed like forever to find out what daiwa reels were coming out this year as I wanted another reel, in the end I was disappointed with what is coming....

I've had my eye on an LTD Certate for a while sitting in my local so thanks to the new models on the way I put down a deposit on it today! Pick it up in a couple of weeks.

It's funny to read this thread and see most people don't like it, I think it's a glamour compared to the new reels on the way hahaha.

Anyone else got one?
