When I first got it I was using the old 20lb accudepth braid. It had about 250m on there and I was into the Spanish mackerel and jacks with that. It was around 4-5 months old when the drag went and I upgraded to carbontex washers and the new accudepth braid which I fit 300m of 30lb. I would also test my drag before fishing with scales. I never ran more than 3- 5kg of drag.

I love my Branzinos. Have had them since release and use them weekly if not more. The Branzinos have been out for 4 years or so and were way above their competitors for a long time. The newer Stella is a great reel to and I do have a couple of them as well.
My Branzinos have all performed well and only recently I changed the bail roller in one and thats the first bit of servicing any of them has had. I do not wash them and if lucky they might get a spray of fresh water if they are still in boat when the hose comes out, if not, straight into rod rack!
Not to say top reels never have problems....
I have had Daiwa reels crap out by spooling them to tight!
I have had Stellas go grindy in two days of popping for GT's....
Would I buy either again? Yes I would, well until the new models come!

Love my branzino 3000 it's my favourite reel by far..Have had mates that have had horrid problems with them but touch wood mine is still silky smooth..And the drag is fantastic, no point trying to get 15kg out of a drag that is rated to 7kg..My opinion only, as for stella's well i'd never own one...
