Boris, I hear what you are saying about getting some great reels and rods for lesser money. I can agree with that. Look at the berkley dropshots or pfleuger trions. Both as good as many $300 sticks. but saying there is no real difference is illinformed. Put a daiwa regal, an exceller, a sol and and exist on their equivilantly matched rods and you will notice the difference without even having to catch a fish. The topend reels will perform better than their cheaper siblings.

Is an exist 3 times better than a sol???? in my opinion yes. in yours no. but is a ferrari a 10 times better car than a commodore? it does the same thing right...? A-B within the speed limit etc... but if you had the personal resources you may decide the finer things are worth the extra coin just to make life that little be easier, more reliable and enjoyable.

That's what i reckon anyway.
