How to tackle a day trip?

Hey guys
Looking at planning a day trip/weekend with a mate, probably down to East Gippy, but unsure of the location yet.
Would look at targeting bream, EP and maybe flatties. Ive fished Tyres and Coota before, wanted to fish Marlo and the Bemm but always kept going to Coota.

Question, what would be the better place to target these places and how do you target these fish with "no prefish" as such? Most of the time ive gone away, it takes a day or so to figure out where and what the fish are doing.
Be fishing out of a tinny with electric so getting into places isnt too much of a drama.

cheers!

If your flying blind bemm River cause is a smaller joint. Marlo is huge so lots of area to cover.

Bemm will probably easier to find the perch.. The river always holds good numbers. Marlo can be a bit harder to target them but there are a few good spots
If you decide on Marlo, drop me a PM and i will give you a few spots..

I'd go Marlo, heaps of species and plenty of options if the wind is up. Bemm at this time of the year can be a bit tricky but you'll always get something there.

It's a crap of a day trip but definitely do able.

If its windy you can always stay around the Slips area at Marlo and its a good spot to camp if you can stretch your stay by a day. I generally try around the mouth, the Islands and the channel into Lake Corringle until the wind gets up and then try around the Slips where I've probably done as good as anywhere.

Don't dis count tambo/Nicholson rivers. They're just that little bit closer but the fishing always been really good when I've been.

x2

Marlo for me if i only had a day.

After a flood, i'd have a look deep out the front of the ramp/jetty and all around the islands, they normally school up in that area.

I've been the opposite.

As the username suggests, used to be my favourite river, but really struggled there over the past few years.

Done well at Marlo/Coota/Metung over this same period though, which is weird .
