I thought so too. They also did mention micromodule II. I can't see the smaller teeth though. It doesn't look like 2018 is a year of any huge tech advancements in reels at least.

I think its getting harder and harder for 'tech' to proceed in reels without either it becoming A too hard to maintain B fix one issue and introduce another or weakness or C create a financial black hole.

I think there is a lot left in body refinements before they start going and dicking around with internals, this in regards to structural tollerances and mating of both halves. Simplify waterproofing in critical areas and bettering seal materials for example silicon rubbers and other technologies. Spools also within regards to durability and corrosion resistance. Drags and making them more thermally efficient and or finding a solution to creating a sealed hydrodynamic drag system for finesse reels.

They state there is a new contact-less "labyrinth" water proof system,so no more rubber gaskets? Good thing is there are more metal parts including drag knob and handle cap.Lovely DLC line roller with 2 bearings is back from 2010.Gears pictured like brass, hopefully they are.

Yes, I'd definitely like to see some refinements to the build quality in particular. Just better fitting parts of the body and even how the rotor sits on the body (can be a little off centre causing wobble). There's a lot they could improve but I would be happy with that for a start.

Other than the stella, these are the only reels I like the look of.

The nasci doesn't actually look all that bad for a cheap reel tbh.

Have you seen the new freams?

Nah, honestly apart from what gets put on fb and this forum, I’m steering clear of new conventional tackle.

I’m trying my hardest to save for some Tibor fly reels and Scott meridians, but it’s so damn hard, especially given the new trend in long range precision rifles in Australia. My wife keeps that craving in check pretty well though

haha! I am familiar with the dilemma, minus the wife part.
