need some help please

hi guys,
as my previous posts,I'm loving throwing lures and yes i have had some limited success but geez its frustrating.
i attract heaps of fish that follow the lure and today i got one but dropped six fish.
i hook them and i have got the weight but then they are gone.
i have a new rod on order and i have the feeling my rod is not springy enough.
maybe i aren't setting the hooks enough? maybe I'm pulling the hooks out of their mouth.
anyway who knows, love some advice as I'm a novice at this game.
these are the lures I'm using.

Ok I had a quick read it seems the lures you mentioned are Surface lures.

For me I always found that there should be Zero strike,You let that fish hit the lure take it under then softly load the rod up sometimes they will still miss but I never strike on a surface hit same goes for Bass.

What line are you using? Breamwise on surface its always been straight through Mono ive had best results with.

whiting are pretty good at throwing hooks, don't fight them too hard they have soft mouths

Try backing you're drag off a bit more, you really only get the hooks home and stay tight any slack can cost you.

For whiting I would drop the leader as well mate try and run 3lb or 4lb with a very light soft rod and be patient.
6lb for Whiting is Overkill mate,Good Luck.

soft rod or they will bounce off and light drags....even then its a 50/50 proposition, with bream you'll get 90%

Hi mate, what rod and reel are you using when chasing whiting?
Did you change out those rubbish trebles on the poco poco?
