Rod Blank For Structure/ Docks

I have been looking around for a blank to make a structure/ docks rod.

Around the 6'6" to 6'9" in length to cast 1/16th up. In the 2-5 kg range.

Does anyone have a recommendation or know what some of the better builders use.

At present I am using a Duffrods 6' 2-5 kg, am just after a bit more length/ leverage.

St Croix SCV in a 4-10lb would be alright I reckon mate. I have a SCV 7'6 4-10lb and it's a weapon, almost like a snapper rod that you can cast bream size lures on.

is that the 76mlxf-2?? Wanna shed more light on it? I can't find any reviews on it but I'm looking at building one up... Doesn't quite throw down to 1/16th does it?

I'm also about to build a rod on the T-Russell Super rozy figaro 6'9" blank with a solid tip, should work the plastics really well in and amongst structure. This is kinda the thing you were after I think BJ Spinner?

Thanks shamozzle, I have been looking at the SCV series but was concerned about them throwing down to 1/16 oz.

How low will it cast comfortably.

I read your post regarding info on some of the Matagi blanks.

I was looking at the super rozy figaro 6'9" but as you unsure on just how the Japanese rod actions compare to what we have available.
So what is it comparable to, I have a megabass shoreluck SLL 7'8" with a solid tip and love it for flats and also have the 6'8" version but no structure rod there.

Before I had the shoreluck my plastics rod was a Gekka AGS Solid tip which was just to fast in action for my liking.

Sorry, Yeh 1/16th is a bit of a stretch. I had it built for casting mw62's, Jackson athletes etc from the shore and it casts those and bigger surface lures a mile but it's not much of a plastics rod. My bad

I prefer a shorter rod for fishing heavy structure. I've built a number of rods on MHX blanks as they are very good value for money in my opinion. My favourite blank for this kind of fishing is SJ720 4-8# 1/32-1/8. It will cast unweighted plastics or 1/4oz if needed with plenty of balls to turn the fish.
