I haven't seen this test conducted but would imagine that there would be very little difference.

I've always assumed that bigger spools cast further - but I'm basing that on surf casting tests I did back in the day.

An alvey versus a 6000 spinning reel - the alvey was a 6 inch diametre and it cast further than the spin reel.

So theres one way to sort it out - get down the park and have a cast

When I wanted to know which of my lure setups cast further - thats what I did
