Exclamation :'( help me, please!

As my username suggests, i cant catch a bream, ive been to a few spots that have been grounds for some of the best bream fishing in the swan and canning river, i visited a spot one night and a guy caught a 43cm bream the next day i went their and didnt get a single hit. today i used 3 rod lengths of 4lb leader, hoping that would increase my luck, and yes, i got a few hits, but not solid ones. all around me these old asian guys were pulling in bream after bream. ive got to the point where im sure its not my tackle thats the problem, ive learned to cast extremely accurately and i changed my handle to the left side so i have better rod control, so i dont think its my technique either. maybe im just cursed or something. can someone please help me with what i might be doing wrong!!!???

Use a motor oil grub smothered in some sfactor.

But persistence is the key.

watermelon red is not bad but that would be my 3rd choice!

Use motor oil and bloodworm grubs!

i normally use watermelon red when the water is clear. still haven't worked out if there are conditions that favour bloodworm over motor oil though.

and don't bother to use 3 rod length 4lb fc leader, because these "old asian guys"usually use 20lb crap mono with #1 rusty hook with prawn and still managed to catch bream after bream

Mate i feel your pain. It can be a pain learning a new lure technique. My recomendation is use about a rod length leader. You loose allot of feel with too long a leader. Use a nice light rod (i use 1.5 - 3kg rod) with fast tapper.

The zman grubs are a gun lure for bream. My goto colours are motor oil, gudgeon and bloodworm. Lots of procure scent in mullet and a nice light jighead.

I use size 1 jigheads with weights between 1/20th and 1/4 ounce deppending on current. Always go as light as possible to get the plastic down without it just bomb diving to the bottom.

Then it just comes down to patience and accurate casting. My personal technique is very simple. Cast it out close to structure, weed edges, reef etc let it sink with bail arm still open. Watch the line for signs for it being oulled by fish while sinking. Once it hits the bottom close bail arm and give it 5 to 10 seconds.

This give any fish looking at it to have a good look. Then give it a small hop or two and let it sink again winding up slack line once it hits the bottom again. Then give it another 5 to 10 second and repeat process till its back to you. Watch your line for ticks while it sinks that is a sign that the bream his hit the lure as its sinking. Allot of the time they will hit it as you hop it up.

Hope that helps.

Buy a couple of Cranka Crabs and cast them as suggested and you will catch fish.
