I ahve four pairs of them
We have the Aviators, the Canoes ( like the Tonic style ) the wireframe / light as anything ones like steve starling used to wear an I have used them now for over 3 years, they are brilliant. light easy to clean, they wash up well from sunscreen and have awesome range of coverage . I like wearing the green lens in the mid morning, afternoon, and overcast days and the mirrored silver / grey for the days in blasting sun! I have worn, Barz Optics, Oakley, and Tonics and have found a home with Maui Jims. I even had a pair of Costa in bright blue and a pair of the Warrior Mako when i was living on Lizard Island. The Oakley guys in a store in New York once told me that they had a lesser quality polarized lens... |

Im a big fan of the Mauis. On my 2nd pair in the bronze lense. Love them. Aren't overly expensive either. Have used spotters and revo and found the Mauis to be best so far.

Thank you everyone for your advice it is greatly appreciated.
My gut instinct is to just go for the Maui's and not be tight. Will let everyone know in the next few weeks which I end up with! |

The older Italian made Revos - before they were bought out by Oakley - are very respected polarised lenses, and can still be found -for a cost - on vintage sunglass shops online. But I think going with a pair of Maui Jims... one could never be disappointed. Just for interest, I'll post up the polarisation comparison test if I am able of finding it again on the interwebz.

I have only just realised that I never replied with what I bought.
I ended up with Tonics and they are absolutely fantastic. I went for the glass model. Really help in any water and everything looks great! |

In my opinion you can't beat quality glass lenses, I'm a huge fan of maui's too but never tried tonics. Sunnies are a very personal choice so if your happy with the tonics then that's all that matters!

Since i replied to this i won two Tonics sunglasses packs in a row first at an ABT then followed by a Classic ,there was only 1 pack up for grabs at each event , not sure what the odds are but looks like i will be wearing Tonics for a while to come.

Tonics are a great pair of goggles, they come in glass and polycarbonate lenses and are great value for money, also have a look at Zeal. These are made by Maui Jim and are a little bit cheaper but also very good, different lens colour but only in polycarbonate. Both styles can also be fitted with perscription lenses at around $300 all up I have been told (my zeal's cost me this) If ya need em.

Have owned a pair of costas and a pair of jims for about a year now.
Green glass costas and grey jims. Both good depending on the water and light conditions but they are both pretty heavy. Dont sit on the hat real well. They slip off pretty easy. Need a neck thingy. Wouldnt go for anything less if you can afford it. I love em
