Todays fun fact

History

The Four'n Twenty pie was created in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia by Leslie Thompson McClure in 1947.[5] Initially called the Dad & Dave Pie after the name of his cafe, McClure renamed the pie using the nursery rhyme suggestion from an employee.[4] At that time, production was around 50 pies per day.[1]

Good work Larry, great conditions on the water.

As I mentioned to you on FB, carp goes pretty well as a bait. I use it a lot for my surf fishing, frozen or fresh doesn't seem to make any difference. Nowadays I just chuck a smaller unit in the freezer and cut it up at the beach.

Yeah I figured I just leave the waste behind and have all my baits cut up, salted and ready for the hook.

The flatties were nibbling on it - but we were only out there for a couple of hours - we spent more time sounding than fishing - couldnt find any decent arches

If you're trying to disassemble your filter inside the tank to save getting a few drips of water on the carpet - dont pull too hard on the filter cartridge and smash it into the side of the tank....

Or you might have to mop up 60 litres instead of a couple of drips

For centuries man has been grappling with the problem of keeping Gold fish and Yabbies in the same tank......... If the Gold fish go for a rest on the bottom they get munched

I've been wanting to do it for a day and already solved it

I noticed the phenomena by accident when I put a couple of coffee jars in my tank for decoration - The Gold fish would cuddle up inside the jar for a snooze. The Jar gets them out of the current created by the filter.

I havent put the goldfish in the Yab tank yet because I'm watching the Yabs to see if they can find a way in.

Its been a day and they have tried - but no success yet

Watched them like a hawk for 45 mins - they were all getting along fine - then snuck out for a dart

Half way through the dart - someone comes out and says you better come quick

I know rod racks have been done to death but heres one I copied designed. The horizontal rack had to go because the rod tips went behind the beer fridge which made some of them a pain to get out and I also needed to increase capacity. The surf rod was a bit thick so I made a clip out of pvc to hold it in. Cost: $20 for 2 bits of pine.
