Not to mention the cultural sensitivity of pauline. 20 years ago before some numpty made bream a 'sport fish', naught would have blinked an eyelid. Applying your own standards to someone half way around the world on a topic as varied as fishing is quite frankly, idiotic.

And I like the photo! A few fish, a can to reference size, a bag of squid and the assumption that it provided a good feed for him and his family!

How soft do you want to get. Disgusting is hardly where my mind went seeing that pic.

Having been to HK I'm more impressed with the quality of fish captured there. Best I had seen previously was a 40cm snapper landed by a woman who knew what she was doing. Eating fish is hardly disgusting.

For those who have an issue with the fish being kept do you understand that without people keeping fish for a feed our sport of catch and release would cop massive scrutiny for tormenting fish for our pleasure...?

Hey PK Man welcome to the site and thanks for the post. You have certainly given me a bit of an education. If someone had told me that there was bream of a good size and squid in target able quantities in Hong Kong I would not have believed them. However you have the pics to prove otherwise.

As for Bombs comments please ignore him! In the state he lives in (NSW) you are allowed to keep 20 bream. Here in WA we can keep 6. Nothing wrong with keeping a feed. Killing and wasting is another thing all together.

Thanks again.

Those are some solid black bream!!! It is especially cool because they were caught by jigging (vertical?). Thanks for sharing the story and the photos.

What's that? Fish has no eye lids? Well, I learn something new everyday...
