Eastern water dragons. I saw them for the first time last year near the children's farm. Cool lizard.

Apologies for the Iguana reference - I was trying to be mildly humorous but missed the mark )

The population has exploded recently - they're along way downstream aswell now - They've even started showing up in my local creek

Heres a couple of shots of the first local one I spotted back in 2007 - you may recognize the banks

Just had another order for a Dragon fly - only this time twice as big and with a Blue Ulysses butter-fly paint job - the blue goes on tommorrow

We were out on the bay the other day and had GPS trouble - for some reason it doesnt like it when the boat goes backwards. Which makes it particularly difficult to know exactly where this tiny hump is.

The snapper were stacked up on it and nowhere else - but we re-anchored 3 times hoping to land on it but no good.

So I said - next time I'm making a marker float - so I can drop it over the side when the sounder lights up - job done

The boat we were in is a 2.5 tonne displacement hull so it needs a big anchor to hold it.

Pulling that bugger up 3 times in about 15 mins gives the arms a bit of a work out - and thats when I had my next bright idea

The store bought versions are a little expensive for my taste - especially for a bit of rope - a $4 steel ring and something that floats

So I told my mate I'd keep an eye out for something that would float his anchor - 3 days and about 10 junk piles later - there it was. The exact sort of sturdy plastic container I was looking for

Too easy

Ta JB - I considered taking it further with the paint scheme but sometimes I take things too far and regret it later
