Land based fishing East Gippsland.

Hey guys,
Im staying down in Lakes Entrance for the next week and want to do some fishing up in the lakes and rivers. I've never fished down this way before and need a few general pointers of where I should start. Fishing mainly with soft plastics. Any directions of where and which river/Lake to have a crack in would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

Cheers mate, bloke in the tackle store up here suggested Lake Tyers also down at mill point so I might give that a crack. Pretty windy up here so at least the lakes are a bit more protected compared to the jetty out at Lakes entrance. Might even have a go up the Tambo, see what happens.

Cheers

Payensville gives a few options if the wind picks up, especially up the Newlands arm. Watermelon 2 1/2inch grubs on 1/24th jigheads did the damage a few weeks ago.

Had better luck on the other side of the arm, under the jetties and casting back to the shore where there was structure!

Alright, might give that a shot tomorrow. Maps tells me there is a path at the end of backwater ct there so I'll go and check that out. Meant to be pretty windy tomorrow, might just depend which way she's blowing.
