Nah mate, i gave him positive positive. I only realised this a few weeks after i had bought it. Took it out for a session for some pinkies and it performed pretty well. If i had noticed it when i had bought it, i would've asked for a refund, but now its too late, so all i can do is give it a good service on the inside, and a nice paint job on the outside.

Cheers

There was only 1 picture in the ad. The size wasnt big so you couldnt see all the touch ups.

1st Problem

Well guys, I was expecting it sooner or later, but the time has come. The reel has had its first problem. When the drag is put up to around 50+%, it becomes very rough when line is pulled out. It is sort of like the drag is stuttering. It lets a bit of line come out, then the spool holds it, then lets out a bit again. Very hard to explain, but hope you guys can help. Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Daiwafreak

Also forgot to mention, it makes a squeaking noise when the spool is rotated.

Hotrods is very generous bloke indeed. I'll give it a shot myself and if that doesn't fix it, I'll be sending it down to Hotrods. I also just opened the spool and realised that there is only 1 felt drag washer. Is it supposed to be like this? Any other tips will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Daiwafreak

Ok, I have degreased the whole reel and re-lubricated it. I have also cleaned the shaft and all the little things on the top of it. Cleaning out the old grease seemed to have solved the sticky drag. However, when i turn the spool clockwise after the drag has been tightened more than 50%, the drag knob goes with the spool which tightens the drag as the spool is turned. I also noticed that the drag is smoother, but much weaker now. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Cheers,

Daiwafreak

what ya got to do is PUT IT IN A BOX AND SEND IT NORTH !

your missing drag washers and the spool knob is rubbing on the spool then tightening it up.
