I just had an exsence 17 land last week havent had a chance to spool it up yet but feels pretty smooth. Really light handle turn...must be those micromodule gears!

Interesting design concepts...

Stella - Hello Daiwa.jpg
The first IMHO taking from Daiwa - covering those pivot screws. Oh and look those screws also look Daiwa also... Come on guys really...

Stella diagram.jpg

Just wondering why a double pull skull cap of sorts cant be involved with the pivot design where the outer 'garnish' cap for the pivot area couldnt be made into the pivot point and a pivoting / friction surface rather than the post itself?

Don't critique me on my paint skills

Stella 2018.jpg

Also that rear cowl, hmm scares me within regards to how flimsy that area is going to be and within regards to our heat, have seen a few FI plastic pieces go a little astray with a little help with being locked in a car...

My thoughts are that the reasoning behind why it goes so high up that right side is to cover the body screws which traverse through the body to pull the LH side in and why you cant see any large plastic butt cowl like beforw which hid the rear outer screws. Interesting idea but a area that's going to need some TLC within regards to corrosion especially on a Mg reel.

Interesting! It’s apparent that they have decided to join forces, it’s a conspiracy if you ask me
Seriously tho the Stella and exist have never now been more alike or is it just me?

Both Mg frames first time ever
Sizing now same across range
Same aesthetics as far as looks(mainly colour)
Released at the same time, they don’t usually go head to head
Little design features eg knobs, bail, reel foot, drag knob

I’m not into all the tech but ya might as well flip a coin between the 2 if you were cashed up enough to buy one!

Sorry reel guru.
I spend my free time actually fishing and don’t pretend to know everything, maybe you should come out from under your rock of reel opinion and join us out there.

Will anyone please post a fishing report?!

Obviously between the two companies, they dominate a large part of the market in most countries. It would make sense to keep an eye out on what each other has to offer but at the same time work together on some areas.
