Use the Breaden SS clips not the decoy - so much easier to get the lure on. The secret is you don't actually open the snap you kind of twist the lure into it and out of it.

I've used Decoy and Breaden and Breaden is the winner by far

The only times clips are more fiddly is if you have big fat clumsy fingers.
YAY for clips. Couldn't live without them personally. As for another point in the line to fail, well thats doubtful. The size 1 Decoys are 22lb.
Actually, I really like the snaps that come with the Ecogear Zx lures. Does anyone know if they are available by themselves or similar?

Just tie a knot and it doesn't even need to be a loop knot....thin leader/braid won't bog down the lure action too much!

Clips suck....the end.

I use Decoy snaps on both HB and SP lures. Personally, I can't see any reason why there should be any difference between using snaps on HBs or SPs.
