Clips yes or no

I believe that a clip will fail before a loop knot, in my opinion with absolutely no science to back it up!
I've never had a loop knot fail, so I've had no reason to change.
I have mucked around with some little ones and I have to use tweezers as my fingers don't cope to well with intricate parts.
I used to tie to split rings, but found on many occasion on Jackall chubbys that somehow the loop would get into the split ring ad work itself off. I've lost 3 or so lures to this and found the leader twice about halfway around the ring. I now remove the rings off all my chubbys now and am very cautious trying straight to a ring with smaller leaders.
