I use knots,I like the idea of snaps except when i've tried them i've found them more of a pain than they are worth on the bream gear.I remove most split rings so getting the decoys etc to fit through the eye of the lure especially when they are counter sunk is too much trouble.
I have also tried the fly hooks but they are no good on stick baits or twitched and paused retrieves.....the lures fall off. cheers nereus

Knots for sure.
I recon it's faster to pick up another outfit than to clip another lure on to cast at a different species! Isn't it why we carry so many outfits on the front of our boats? Well that was my reasoning I use to give the EX for the amount of tackle I have

I always use snaps for HBs, but go back to knots for spinnerbaits and plastics.
If you use a quality snap [owner/decoy/yozuri] you'll have no issue as long as you match the appropriate line weight. As well as making for fast, pain free lure changes it also means you dont chew through as much leader material. One of the main things to remember when using them on HBs is to remove the tow points split ring first. This way you are pretty much negating the weight differance and it wont hinge as much if you are targeting a fish that jumps actively like trout. |

i just leave my snaps on the lures that need a loop knot and which did not come with a split ring, that way i never need to use loop knots whi |

wow, new here and i am already polarising people :P
just to reiterate, the snap i showwed is small, light and strong. It does not effect lure action at all. much easier than snapping your line or fiddling with a loop knot for changing lures... of course if you are carrying more than one rod then its irrelevant. :P |
