Soo many variables there, wind will alway stuff ya with a rod tip up on a long pause. Even the slightest breeze. Rod tip up on a long cast will also potentially drag u out of the strike zone.
My advice was purel base on a previous comment about going flouro for visibility, and explained why some use mono for surface because of its buoyancy. I use flouro too coz I'm too lazy to change. But ideal would be mono all things being equal. But on occassions I also like the first stab submerging the lure when they're really finnicky.
