Yeah that soundS like an interesting experiment. The Berkeley’s dont last for ever but they are good straight out of the packet and a year or 2 later. Depending on use (or mis-use
). They can stay sharp for longer. But mine get used for a lot of things other than cutting braid. So it would be interesting to see how long they last in the hands of someone who looks after their gear
