The tackleback lure retrievers are fantastic in that setting. Get the smallest one. I go to that if the technique yellow door recommended and the standard waving around your rod while swearing and gesticulating don't work. Basically let it run down a taut line to the snag and you'll get it released. probably works (for me, land based) about 2/3 of the time). I generally only get into trouble when being ambitious and casting around shrubs and snags etc. I don't find snags to be too bad when its just rocks. That said, i am mostly having the lure within 2-3m of the bank and wear shorts so often I can wade in and get it or (carefully) run the rod tip down the line and release it.
