Yeah I just tried to google shoo-goo versus silicone but not alot of useful info came up.
One fella said that shoo-goo has better holding power but most of my shoes dont last 2 years, so silicone sounds like a goer. I've used black silcone to help repair a net handle and it was an absolute nightmare to pull apart when it needed repairing again
What type of boots were they and were you sticking the sole back on. And how often do you wear those boots
