Zmans float and on a standard type head or better still the squidgy type with that wire hook, when the lure rests on the bottom it sits bum up, waving its tail in the current just begging to be eaten. The headlocks, with that keeper down along the shank prevent small plastics doing this and they just lay flat on the bottom.
Try it in a bucket of water and you'll see what I mean.
Very interesting observation

I remember from my spearfishing days - the easiest time to hit a King George Whiting was when his head was in a cloud of sand while feeding.

Head down - bum up = Go in for the kill
