Theres a small chance this is a facebook hoax as the legislation hasnt actually gone through yet - but if not - its interesting

Just a heads up everyone.
I got fined for not paying the ramp fee and I appealed on the grounds that the newly elected state government said they were going to abolish the ramp fees once re-elected.
The council withdrew it without hesitation.
Now on the grounds that they are lawfully bound to provide the same outcome for the same circumstances I'd say there might be a few of you considering writing a polite letter.
You can all thank me later "

This feat should not go unacknowledged, well done Craig!! Taking on the Government at their own game and winning, holding them to account for promises that in general they simply lead you on with.
Makes me feel super privileged also as in regional NSW there is no such thing as ramp fees, Sydney may be a different story i am unsure.

Yeah - My impression in VIC is - they are technically "parking fees"

ie if you drive up, launch the boat and park back at home, the launch is free. Or you get someone to drop you off at the ramp and they take the trailer back home - its all good. This is definitely the case at unmanned ramps

But theres only a tiny percentage of people who can take advantage of that - so for all intents and purposes - they are launching fees

Some ramps have a person collecting money but I've never checked if they allow you to launch without paying is you dont park there.

Re Craigs efforts - imagine his surprise when he opened that letter;)
