How to post up a photo

Hi all, especially the new members.

Now, I've noticed that alot of the new members dont know how to post up a photo, so I'am writing this guide to avoid the forums being spammed with this question, and if Bear wants to sticky this, I would be very happy.

1. Type up your post and then click here:

Just to add:

- images are can be no larger than 500x500 pixels in size.

- use jpeg images if possible.

Right Click on the file you wish to resize,

Click 'Open With' then 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager'

Then

Then on the right hand side of you screen

type 500 & 500

this reduces the largest side to 500 pixels and keeps the ratio intact so the image isnt distorted

Well that the quickest way i have found to do it, this way i can also crop, and other basic editing required.

their is also a microsoft powertoy windows add-on that allows you to resize a picture simply buy right clicking it although it only works with xp.

Another bit to add that very few cameras take a square photo so setting it to 500x500 will come out stretched and distorted.
My photos always end up 500x375 and I use Irfanview which is free to download from the net.

l believe the site has taken a backward step in term's of photo's now becoming attachment's that you have to click on.(annoying really).
lm comparing this site to a new site recently started from our southern shore's as there seem's to be little problem with the way page time's start up.Plus the added bonus of having pic's closer to 600X600 is very pleasing to the eye.
l used to like seeing all the photo's come up without attachment's involved.
What is the reasoning behind this and will the pic's make a return?
lt make's for a pretty drab page with no wow factor on display in term's of visible pic's.
Sorry to hijack post.

Cheer's Steve

Hooked, I don't have to click on any attachments to view photos they just come up, maybe a setting or something on your computer causing the attachment bizzo. anyone else having his problem.

Got to admit Steve, you've lost me on that one as we've made no changes and will be increasing the size soon as I have a few other changes made.

Thanks,
